Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is an aesthetic procedure performed to achieve better skin tone and to remove fine lines, especially on the face. The chemical solution removes outer layers of skin which are damaged by age, sun, acne, wrinkles, or pigmentation problems. Removing the outer skin prompts the body to generate a new layer of skin cells which are tainted by the previous skin condition.

Reasons for Considering a Chemical Peel:

• Reduce facial wrinkles and lines.
• Improve sun-damaged skin.
• Correct age spots and pigmentation problems.
• Lighten scars (especially from acne).
• Treat precancerous skin lesions.

General Procedure

At the time of your procedure, any active skin disease, infection, or acne needs to be under control in order to maximize results. There are several different types of chemical solutions which can be used, ranging from a mild solution to a very strong one. The surgeon will select what is best for the patient based on their skin condition, color, and desired result.

During the procedure, the skin is first cleansed of oils. A solution is then carefully applied and is allowed to remain on the skin for a short time in order to remove the layers of damaged skin. At this point, the skin will turn white, a frost-like effect. The skin is then neutralized and cleansed. Finally, an ointment is applied to the skin to aid in healing.

Recovery Process

Generally, post-operative instructions call for plenty of rest and limited movement in order to speed up the healing process and recovery time. An ointment and dressings are applied immediately following surgery to aid in the healing process and to minimize swelling. The skin will have a pinkish color, and a thin crust may form over the area that was treated. Patients sometimes report minor pain associated with the procedure, which can be treated effectively with oral medication. While complications are rare, patients can minimize potential problems by carefully following the post-operative directions given by the surgeon. Recovery time varies depending upon the extent of the chemical peel.

TCA Peel

$600/ PKG of 3- $1,440/ PKG of 6- $3,000

(Trichloro-acetic acid (TCA) peel) is a medium depth peel that uses high concentrations of trichloro-acetic, glycolic, lactic and salicylic acids to achieve a variety of skin resurfacing and rejuvenation results. More aggressive than superficial and light peels, TCA peels and other medium depth solutions penetrate through the epidermis layer of skin and into the dermis layer. TCA peels are excellent for treating the appearance and texture of rough and dull skin, fine surface wrinkles and superficial blemishes. TCA peels can also reduce the appearance of smaller, superficial age spots, brown spots and other similar discolorations. Medium depth solutions, like TCA peels, are additionally safe and suitable for people with light brown, tan and olive-colored skin tones.

Waxing Treatment

Laser Treatment

Photofacial is a low-risk, non-surgical procedure with proven clinical results. It is designed to combat the effects of sun damage and our environment, which causes pre-aging and damaged skin such as wrinkles, fine lines, sun spots, redness even acne scars. Photofacial treatments will help your skin have better tone, texture and a more youthful appearance.

Precise amounts of light energy are delivered through the skin’s surface to stimulate the production of collagen and as the new collagen forms; it softens the appearance of aging skin.

Benefits of a Photofacial:

• Removes brown spots, sun damage and vascular lesions

• Improves skin texture

• Stimulates additional collagen formation

• Reduces pore size

• Minimal downtime

• Safe

• Effective

How does it work?

The photofacial or IPL, intense pulsed light, technology delivers precise dosages of energy through your skin’s surface. Light energy is gently delivered at specific settings through a special hand piece to targeted areas. Levels of energy specific to your treatment are used to maximize your improvement. Once delivered, the light energy is absorbed by the targeted damaged tissue.
The light energy stimulates the production of collagen. As the new collagen forms, it softens the appearance of aging skin. Fine lines and wrinkles are decreased. The redness associated with rosacea can be dramatically reduced.

What Does IPL Photofacial Treat?

IPL Photofacial treats sun-damaged skin, age spots, large pores, hyperpigmentation and more. Studies have shown that IPL Photo facial improves vascular complexion problems such as vascular redness (telangiectasias) and rosacea by up to 80 to 90%. IPL Photofacial is also used as a preventative measure against common signs of aging and a wide range of skin types can be treated. Photofacials are safe for the face, hands, neck, chest & any other body area where there is sun damage or pigmentation problems.

How many Photofacials will I need?

For optimal results, a series of Photofacial treatments are recommended. Many patients see significant improvement after just one treatment; others require more. Each patient is unique and our clinical staff will assess your needs and make a specific recommendation for you. As part of a “Skin Care Maintenance Program” we do recommend our patients come in for follow up treatments to maintain their results.

Who is a candidate for this procedure?

As soon as your skin begins to show signs of aging, sun damage, acne scars, redness or general dullness, a Photofacial is the first step in most rejuvenation regimens. This treatment is recommended for women and men.

What is the treatment like?

A Photofacial treatment may vary from 15 to 45 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated. First, the treated area is cleansed and a numbing cream applied. Then a cooling gel is applied to the skin being treated. When the pulse of light is delivered, the sensation is similar to a snap of a rubber band. After treatment, the skin is cleansed, and a sunscreen is applied. Many patients experience a warm heat sensation for an hour or so after the treatment. This is normal and will dissipate with time. For sensitive skin, a cool compress is applied following treatment.

What can you expect after your treatment?

Immediately following the procedure, you may experience some redness, swelling and/or a darkening of pigmented areas. The redness and swelling clears up within one to three days. The darkened pigmentation will get darker and start to flake / peel off after a few days to one week. It is extremely important to apply a SPF 30 sun-block with a moisturizer and avoid sun exposure on a daily basis to prevent additional sun damage. Makeup can be applied to the treated area. Additionally, hair growth may be impaired in the treated area, although it is not the intended purpose of this particular treatment.

What improvement will I see following a Photofacial procedure?

Photofacial patients have a high degree of satisfaction with their results. Expect to see a gradual decrease in redness, broken capillaries, flushing, irregular pigmentation, pore size, and fine lines. After each treatment, the skin will feel smoother and appear to have a clearer more even tone.

Today’s advanced anti-aging technologies can help take years off your appearance, and use a combination of heat, infrared and light energy to boost collagen production and tighten up the skin. Laser skin resurfacing is a powerful anti-aging procedure because it stimulates cell production at a deep level, giving you a more youthful and toned appearance.

Pixel skin resurfacing is one of the most popular skin enhancement procedures available, and offers several advantages over other types of anti-aging procedures. Here’s a close look at the benefits of pixel skin resurfacing:

1. Noninvasive procedure.

Pixel skin resurfacing is one of the few non-invasive solutions for getting rid of wrinkles, acne scars, freckles and reducing skin discoloration. The procedure works by applying a device directly on the skin’s surface, so there isn’t a single incision involved.

2. Helps create a flawless look.

If you want to improve the texture your skin, reduce pore size or just even out your skin tone, pixel laser skin resurfacing may be your best solution. The intensity of the laser energy is more powerful than standard chemical peels that promise similar results, and you’ll see the results immediately.

3. Helps stimulate collagen production for the long-term.

Even though you’ll see results right away from this procedure, you can also expect to enjoy ongoing results for several months after treatment. Skin cells will continue to reproduce at a rapid rate because the dermis has been stimulated at a deeper level. This means your skin will become tighter, smoother and more toned for the weeks and months after your procedure.

5. Immediate results.

You can look forward to immediate results with pixel skin resurfacing, although your skin may be slightly red and tender for a few hours after treatment. In the days following the procedure, you’ll notice clearer skin, a more toned and sculpted face, and a significant reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

6. Selective treatment that helps even heavily photo damaged skin.

If you have extensive scars from surgery or an accident, have suffered from acne, or have noticeable brown spots and freckles on your skin, you can eliminate them entirely with pixel skin resurfacing. This procedure has proven to be effective at correcting even the most heavily photo-damaged skin, so you can look forward to clearer, more toned skin within a matter of days.
